Title Moderated Email Groups: Computing Magazine Case Study

Abstract This paper describes a case study usage of a new online qualitative technique called "Moderated Email Groups" (MEGs ©) for VNU Publishing. It includes a validation against a physical focus group. Similar results were found for both techniques and the MEG had a number of advantages over the physical group MEGs are also shown to have a number of benefits over existing email group methods and online groups for business samples.
The paper also describes some of the findings of the research including users perceived benefits of using email and its personality, which are due to be published in Computing on 25th February 1999.
